POSITION CONCEPT

The position is responsible for interacting with internal and external clients to identify key communications objectives, target audiences, and provide communication strategies, crisis communication planning, project coordination, creative direction and support and implementation of customer communications and marketing initiatives. Responsibilities also include assuming subject matter expert/liaison role for communications and handling coordination of internal and external communication activities and campaigns, including billing communications, website content, customer letters, social media, particularly as its related to customer communications. Also serves as alternate media spokesperson, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, communications, advertising, marketing, or related field required.

Related Experience

Required: Minimum five years’ experience in marketing communications-related projects including publication writing, coordination and production.

Preferred: Minimum two years of related utility research experience. Advertising or public relations experience including project management in communications and marketing, use of social media, media relations, corporate research, or agency environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs)

Required: Basic knowledge of social media, website, and graphic design. Must be able to meet deadlines and carry out assignments under minimal supervision. Familiarity with AP style, strong writing skills and the ability to gather, manage and communicate information effectively in multi-media platforms; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization. Detail oriented, practices sound judgment and the ability to quickly prioritize among competing demands.
