Teel has 1 openings for a D shift (7am - 7pm) Production Supervisor. This position is responsible for leading the shift and carrying out the daily production plan and manufacturing activities related to safety, quality, LEAN /Six Sigma Manufacturing. Analyze and act based on the results of the shift recap data. Make process improvement recommendations to lead and drive continuous improvement activities on the shift. Responsible for performance management and labor requirements for the shift in compliance with our skills-based wage program.
Primary Functions and Duties: Providing strong, positive leadership and supervision to ensure good morale and high productivity.· Work with management and support personnel to establish company strategies, policies & procedures to support the company goals and objectives.· Provide management support.· Provide frequent positive feedback to employees.· Proactively address performance problems & complete Training Action Plans (TAP) and performance appraisals in a timely manner.· Identify opportunities and promote growth and development of employees.· Assure appropriate training is identified and provided to all employees.· Effectively manage short- & long-term staffing to meet demand. Conduct interviews, as necessary.· Identify corrective actions and drive to completion on time & on budget.· Ensure appropriate training is identified and provided to all employees. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Activity· Create departmental plans to support the company’s strategic initiatives.· Work with team members on value and cost improvements of products and services to reduce costs or improve performance.· Monitor team performance against established metrics.· Post visual manufacturing metrics & present information with employees at cell meetings.· Lead & participate on lean quality improvement teams.
Production Scheduling, Execution & Quality· Coordinate daily work assignment of personnel.· Review daily com logs, data & reports in systems such as VM & Teelios.· Participate in MRB, NCMs & CPAR resolutions.· Properly report & control inventory.· Coordinate completion of maintenance & engineering action request forms & communicate
needs.
Proactive Safety Activities· Lead lean 5S activities to provide a safe, clean work environment.· Perform LOTO & Stop Audits.· Assist in creating and revising safety procedures.· Assist in injury reporting.· Participate on safety committees & improvements.· Support the STOP Program. Knowledge and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent, prefer continued education in a related discipline. Formalized training within LEAN / Six Sigma is preferred.2 years of classroom training experience highly desired.Working knowledge of personal computers including experience with Microsoft Office products.Formal training and experience in team building & problem solving. Strong communication, organization & leadership skills are critical.Manufacturing experience a plus.Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience successfully supervising & coaching employees or minimum experience of 5 years as a technical leader and leading the shift on the weekends inside the department.
