We're looking for someone with a proven ability to create, produce and write news of the day as well as unique content for our new afternoon/early evening newscast. We’re looking for a producer with strong skills, strong leadership qualities and strong creative ideas about how to make newscasts stand out from our competitors.

$28.85 - $31.25 USD

Responsibilities
- Line produce an afternoon/early evening newscast. Be available to fill in on early evening as needed.
- React to breaking news and manage the show's timing
- Write stories and teases for broadcast
- Produce3 unique content for multi-platforms, including broadcast and digital
- Have awareness of and ability to gather hyper-local content (local politics, school boards, small town issues, etc) and present it to viewers in a clear, concise way.
- Be a leader in the newsroom
- College degree in journalism, communications or similar
- 3-5 years experience full-time newscast producing.
- Top-notch communication skills are an absolute must.
- Solid journalistic judgement and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair and unique local content, along with community engagement.
- Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism.
- Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content.
- Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on your preferred social platforms.
- Organizational skills and the ability to work under time pressure deadlines.
- Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events.
- ENPS and Edius system experience preferred.
