Paint Automation Tech

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paint Automation Technician to join our team at our Tier 1 Automotive Top-Coat Paint facility.

Responsibilities:

• Understand and operate the paint system components, including conveyor systems, power washers, dry-off ovens, style/panel detection areas, manual and automatic paint booths, bake ovens, paint mix rooms, and unloading processes.
• Proficient in handling various paint guns and Bells, including automatic, manual, and spot paint guns.
• Monitor robotic operations for optimal paint application and conduct quality control checks.
• Continuously monitor and adjust operating parameters on the paint line to ensure smooth operations.
• Promptly identify and address process disruptions, coordinating with production associates, team leaders, and the paint manager.
• Manage paint and solvent consumption, maintain FIFO inventory, and ensure certification of paint batches.
• Engage in customer and vendor interactions as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues related to the paint process to maintain efficiency and quality.
• Support in training other associates on paint system operations and procedures.
• Collaborate with suppliers to test and evaluate new materials.
• Operate systems efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Paint Manager.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage applications
- Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting logic controllers (PLCs)
- Experience in field service or customer service roles
- Familiarity with industrial electrician practices and principles
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance techniques and best practices
- Understanding of distributed control systems (DCS)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
