A large Telecommunications client of ours is looking for a Sr. My SQL DBA to join their team. This is a fully remote opportunity on a W2 basis only
MySQL DBA
The DB Resource will act as a mix of System and Application DBA for Production, DR, and Dev MySQL databases. They will work closely with the Senior DBA to maintain overall performance and uptime. They will also need to respond to day to day requests from developers for tasks such as query tuning, table structure changes, data migration, user management, etc. They will also be required to develop Python and/or Shell scripts to automate various DBA tasks.
- Senior level experience with the MySQL database
- Strong knowledge on Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Python scripting experience for DBA tasks
- Familiar with database theory, such as locks, transaction logs and stored procedures.
- General understanding of database performance tuning.
- Experience with database replications.
- General understanding of Linux
- Nice to have:
- Experience with MS SQL
- Experience with MongoDB
