- We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be based in St. Paul and will oversee payroll processes for four different companies across multiple locations. This role involves managing internal API Group employees and collaborating with four distinct payroll processors (three in Minnesota and one in Chicago). The ideal candidate is a hands-on manager who can dive into the details while also ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Responsibilities
- Manage payroll processing for four companies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with internal payroll processors to address discrepancies and reconcile data.
- Review final payroll runs for compliance with legal requirements.
- Analyze payroll data, including scales and pay transparency, to ensure alignment with company policies and legal regulations.
- Prepare reports related to labor costs, benefits reconciliation, and other payroll-related metrics.
- Utilize MS Excel (including advanced features like VLOOKUPs and pivot tables) to extract insights and identify trends.
- Evaluate existing payroll processes and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
- Assist in the transition from MS Dynamics to Oracle as the primary payroll tool.
- People Management (Desirable):
- If the candidate has people management experience, they will be prioritized.
- Experience: A minimum of a couple of years in payroll-related roles.
- Payroll Expertise: Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax compliance, and legal requirements. in-house payroll processing versus outsourcing to companies like ADP.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and make informed decisions.
