Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of military precision measurement and calibration training or an Associate’s Degree in an electronics or mechanical/technical discipline from an accredited school highly desired.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years related Navy or Marine Corps Calibration Laboratory experience, including working at a Field Calibration Activity (FCA) or similar laboratory is required. The candidate must have a working knowledge of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), 17-35MTL-1 (METRL) and NAVAIRINST 13640.1(series) documents; and demonstrated calibration experience to include the use of Instrument Calibration Procedures (ICP) and reference Calibration Standards (CALSTD). Additional experience required for this position includes but is not limited to the following; troubleshooting measurement standards by making measurements with test equipment to identify problems to the component level; demonstrated basic electronic construction and repair skills; and demonstrated experience analyzing engineering drawings such as schematics, logic diagrams, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, interconnecting drawings and blue prints
Position Description: This position will function as a Junior Metrologist, providing repair, calibration and modification of a wide variety of complex precision measurement equipment utilized by the Navy & Marine Corps activities and other laboratory customers. The skill set and experience required for this billet is in electronic technical calibrations. Calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and Reference Calibration Standards (CALSTDS). CALSTDS or TMDE supported includes attenuators, filters, waveform generators, Global Positioning System (GPS) indicators, measurement receivers and signal generator calibrators to 26GHz, analog and digital multimeters, electronic counters, pulse/function/signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analyzers, time, frequency, modulation, coaxial directional couplers, RF power meters, VSWR Indicators, attenuation, directivity, power, phase, pulse code modulation, noise, sensitivity, gain, voltage, current, power, resistance capacitance, inductance AC/DC ammeters, and TACAN test sets.
