TekPro is partnered with a leading Civil Engineering firm in their search for a civil engineer to join their Milwaukee Transportation Team. If you’re looking for the opportunity to work on engaging transportation infrastructure projects and a team-oriented environment, this is the role for you!
We’re looking for an engineer with 4 years of experience in a similar role. Experience with CAD systems (AutoCAD / Civil 3D or MicroStation) is preferred. Experience in plan preparation and construction administration is a plus. Prior experience on any State, Federal, or Local agency projects is desired. This position will require a technical background in at least one of the following areas: highway design, traffic engineering, roadway drainage & hydrology, and structural bridge engineering. Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and Highway Capacity Manual is highly recommended.
Tasks
• Perform engineering design tasks for roadway and transportation projects from preliminary to final design.
• Develop final design plans, including highway geometrics, cross sections, maintenance of traffic, erosion control, drainage, pavement marking and signing plans.
• Assist in specifications, cost estimates, and the preparation of final PS&E packages.
• Assist in design activities and meetings between staff, subcontractors, and client.
• Construction administration of various projects to verify compliance to safety and quality standards.
• Performing other tasks deemed necessary by the project manager from time to time.
• Achieve client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget.
Qualifications Skills
• BSCE Degree (or higher from) an ABET accredited institution with emphasis in roadway design.
• EIT Certification is a plus!
• Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design Software (AutoCAD / Civil 3D or MicroStation) is required.
• Excellent technical communication skills
• Ability to work independently.
• Willingness to learn and invest in professional development.
