Job description:
The primary responsibility of this individual is to support the execution of R&D product design (NPI) program. The Staff Electronics Engineer must be a hands-on person with experience in board and system level electronic circuits design testing and troubleshooting including design, setup, programming and operation of test fixtures. Experienced with LabVIEW and other based test tools. Experience with Optics, Lasers, Motors, Motion control, pumps, fluidics & pneumatics systems, optical sensors, pressure and flow sensors is a strong plus. This individual is expected to set up, operate and maintain laboratory instruments, design, build and monitor experiments, make observations, participate in design reviews, perform electronic circuit de-rating, vibration and temperature tests, record and report results and be able to develop conclusions and follow through on resolution. Has good verbal and written communication skills as well as cross-functional skills. The Engineer will help expand the lab capabilities while maintaining current equipment. Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives. Engages in Credo-based decision-making.
The Staff Engineer, will:
· Conduct board- and system-level reliability test analysis for electronic circuits and PCBAs in capital medical equipment
· Design and review electronics/optical and electromechanical test fixtures together with the team and write code
· Plan, documents and perform HALT / ALT testing and reliability demonstration testing (RDT)
· Author and participate in DFR, studies and reports
· Conduct root cause analysis of reliability problems. Determine physics of failure
· Drive and review component derating activities
· Create or participle in FMEAs, reliability hazard analysis, predictive and preventive maintenance, accelerated testing techniques, and application of statistical analysis with small samples.
· Prepare and present diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations to support team decisions.
· Participate in design for reliability efforts, reviews and FRACAS process.

Qualifications:
· BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related is required; MS is a plus.
· Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be organized, self-learner with, able to multi-task and have strong attention to details.
Required skills:
· A minimum of 8 years with electrical design and stress testing experience is required. 12 years is preferred.
· Strong experience with electronic circuit design and analysis, setup, program and operation of test devices and creation of automated test scripts.
· Experience with LabVIEW programming or related programming
