Enterprise Level Data Center Technician

Qualifications:
Reliable - Must show up on time daily ready to work
Comfortable with heights and familiar with what to expect on a construction site
Willingness to learn, sweat, work hard, and have mechanical aptitude
Steel Toe Boots and familiarity with basic hand tools

Day-to-day duties:
Contractors will be required to work off blueprints, utilize hand and power tools to assemble and mount trays, and server racks/closets, and also pull fiberoptic cable from point A to point B.
Drop the cable down a wall using fish tape or other methods. Route cable. Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, form, dress cables, and determine length, slack, and label cables. Suspend and support cable correctly: Cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, Bridal rings, Trapez
Build out server rows (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
Perform fire-stopping procedures on firewalls, install sleeves, and pull cable through sleeves and core penetration.
Will terminate low-voltage devices. All contractors will be trained on all of this.
OSP - outside guys that have no problem with the heat. Crews will be outside digging at times but mostly pulling cable underground and into the data centers.
Build-Out Team - This team is putting together the actual racks and cable trays that the servers and cables sit on. They will also install the rack and cable trays into the data center.
ISP - can range from just hanging cable trays/building server cabinets to potentially doing networking support or even break/fix repairs if skilled enough. Usually takes a while to get on these teams
Most people start out on the OSP or Build-Out team. The first week is the toughest week for anyone. If they make it a week and don't have issues, then they usually are taken under a lead wing and things go well for them.
Pulling off the cable is extremely physical and exhausting on the body. There is a ton of cable to be pulled as multiple buildings and projects are going at one time

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Any type of low-voltage, cable, or fiber experience is a plus

Work Environment:
This is a huge ongoing construction site. There are a ton of different trades out onsite, plumbing, HVAC, concrete, framing, etc.
They have over 60 individuals on-site and are ramping up double that number.
Hours will vary depending on what time individuals are in the project. The team typically works 4-10hr days (M-TH) or 5-8hr days (M-F) with occasional OT (Potential Saturday work) Never on Sundays. Teams can start as early as 6 AM. This is daytime work.
MUST SHOW UP ON TIME. If late they will send you home. ZERO TOLERANCE.

Business Drivers:
We are continuing to build out one of the largest data centers in the United States
We currently have 3 completed buildings with 2 under construction and 1 more that is about to break ground in November with 10-12 more buildings in the works for the future.
On most site across the country we have a 30-year contract for Maintenance at the site and must also decommission and replace copper and fiber every 3 years.

Tools/PPE Required:
Steel toe Boots and basic hand tools are a plus, All other PEE will be provided, Hard-hat, safety vest, glasses, etc.

Compensation:
All Entry-Level technicians will start at 18/hr.
We can pay more based on experience.
