Work is typically performed in a fast-paced office environment. Extensive phone work. Overtime may be required during certain times.
Job Description
The two primary functions of this position are to process freight bills and assist customers with freight tracking and status information.
1. Accurately prepare assigned billings. May include inputting, plugging, separating for payment, imaging / scanning, filing, copying, etc.
2. Process paperwork related to invoices, delivery receipts, manifests, faxes, damages, shortages, refusals, manifests, bills of lading and other types of paperwork.
3. Receive customer phone calls and provide appropriate information regarding their freight. This may include activities such as :
a. Tracing or researching freight status.
b. Marking bills.
c. Answering questions.
d. Faxing information.
e. Obtaining corrections.
f. Filing reports or claims.
4. Process credit cards.
5. Provide updates or reports as appropriate.
Secondary Duties :
1. Assist other Billing / Receiving / Customer Service staff.
2. Sort and distribute paperwork within the office.
3. Other duties as assigned.

Communication / Customer Contact :
Communication skills are necessary as the position interacts with customers, vendors, contractors and / or suppliers. Contacts may be via telephone or face-to-face.
