What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cabe Technician position at TEKsystems?
Job Description
We are seeking someone with experience installing voice and data cabling (i.e., Cat6, Cat6a, ) for commercial and industrial customers that range in size from small "mom & pop shops" to hospitals, office buildings. university buildings, and high-rise buildings.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Someone with at least 1-2 years of cabling experience. Candidates with more experience will be considered for Lead positions
- Must be comfortable reading prints and able to work independently.
- We are looking for someone who has a great attitude and work ethic.
- Candidate must be comfortable working with copper cable, able to hang J-hooks, do punchdowns, and test & terminate.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Customer Service skills, ready to work attitude, reliable transportation to and from the job sites daily. This person must be able to work independently. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running with this company.

Work Environment
All candidates must provide their own basic hand tools and personal protective equipment. This includes a hard hat, reflective safety vest, gloves, safety glasses, steel toe boots, wire snips, wire strippers, punch tools, flat and Phillips screwdrivers. Candidates must also take a color blindness test.
