What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Center Technician position at TEKsystems?
No experience required, but previous telecommunications or construction experience a HUGE plus.
Pay rate will be based on experience. Candidates with previous fiber optic cabling and/or security installation experience are STRONGLY encouraged to apply. Pay rates for experienced fiber and security technicians will range from $19 - $25 per hour, depending on experience.
***Job location is in Boydton, Virginia***
On-the-job-training for the first 6 weeks.
Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm. Must be willing to come in early and/or stay late, as needed.
Job Description:
Our client has multiple needs open for entry-level cable technicians. These technicians will be learning cabling on a grand scale. Training will be provided by company. They have an exclusive contract to build the cable infrastructure throughout the data center. The candidate's role will be to assist the higher level technicians and team leads in building out the infrastructure including: pulling cable, pulling fiber, learning color codes, learning how to punch down and terminate fiber, installing cable trays and pathways, and building server racks.
