Previous Helpdesk or Desktop Support or
PC Technician experience is preferred. IT certifications are desirable
for this role. This will be a first shift opportunity on a Contract to
Hire basis. Pay will be negotiable based on experience.
Job Description:
The IT Technician’s role is to support and maintain computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required.
Other duties may include:
1.Liaise with, and provide training and support to, all Employees on computer operation and other issues.
2.Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.
3.Where required, install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated end user workstation software and networking software products.
4.Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
5.Receive and respond to incoming calls, helpdesk tickets, pages, faxes, and/or e-mails regarding PC software and/or hardware problems.
6.Develop and maintain an inventory of all PCs, laptops, monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment.
7.Provide a procedure for backing up critical PCs/laptops on a routine basis.
8.Monitor and test PC performance and provide PC performance statistics and reports.
9.Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring PC performance.
10.Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
11.Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems.
12.Conduct research on computer products in support of PC procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend hardware products for purchase.
13.Write technical specifications for purchase of PCs, networking hardware and related products.
14.Recommend, schedule, and perform PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
15.Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs.
16.Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations.
17.Liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors when needed.
18.Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables, and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
19.To be aware of the company’s QA policy and objectives. To observe these policy provisions and fulfill in all respects the requirements of his/her job. Q.A procedures as defined in the quality manual shall be strictly observed.
