Description :
- Day to day duties :
- Making payment determinations. For example, parties have gone back and forth and haven’t settled on a proper claim payout based on the CPT code.
This person would say this is the right party, here is why, etc. They will be deciding payment determinations for claims.
They must have their CPC or CPC-A, but they will not be doing any coding in this role.
Will be working on / reviewing a lot of emergency services, ambulance services, air ambulance and non air ambulance so a lot of emergency providers.
If they have knowledge / experience that is helpful but not required
- Volume - Currently working through figuring out how many charts / files this person will be expected to complete per hour. TBD.
- Will be working in their internal database / system that houses all the claims and cases.
HOURS :
M-F 8am 4 : 30 CST
100% remote
Qualifications :
- CPC or CPC-A certification must be active / update to date
- Experience coding / billing emergency services, ambulance services, air ambulance and non air ambulance helpful but not required
- NSA (No Surprises Act) experience / knowledge is helpful but not required
- Great opportunity for Medical Billers with their CPC-A who want to get into coding with working knowledge to understand the codes and the insurance parameters
- Open to experience in either the professional services or facilities side
- Adaptability this is a new team they are building
