TEKsystems is seeking a Cost Analyst / Controller for our Alaska Based client.
This will be a 100% remote engagement working typical Alaska Business Hours Monday through Friday
Description:
Position Purpose:
- The Cost Controller is responsible for controlling the project costs by planning, developing, controlling, and forecasting the project’s budget.
- The goal of the cost controller is to minimize the deviation from the budget and ensure that the project is completed within the approved budget.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in Total Cost Management concepts & terminologies and have direct experience applying them in a project setting
- Ability to develop a budget using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), allocate the budget in accounting systems, establish and track a Cost Baseline
- Earned Value Management (EVM) experience: Deep knowledge of EVM practices and end to end experience establishing rules of credit and tracking core cost Ability to analyze a cost report, detect issues, and effectively communicate the project’s cost performance, issues/ concerns, & recovery plans to the project team
- Experience preparing reports for cost performance metrics for both the immediate project team and executive level summaries
- Experience controlling budget releases under each WBS element and tracking performance.
- Ability to facilitate capital project team's operating expense budgets, forecast, variance comments, accruals, and reporting.
- Ability to analyze purchase order commitments to calculate accruals.
- Experience developing unit standard costs and BOM's to provide data for the estimating team.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft O365 suite with an emphasis on Excel
- Functional understanding of scheduling tools and software: Project or P6
- Not required, but a plus: Experience in Oracle Financial Suite and ADP payroll application.
Desirable Certifications
• Association for Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE International): CCT, CCP, EVP
• Project Management Institute (PMI): CAPM or PMP
