We are seeking a Plant Manager to oversee our facility located in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will have experience in ERP software, lean manufacturing principles, scheduling, recruiting, and training, as well as a strong background in operations analysis and budgeting. Responsibilities
- Utilize ERP software to streamline production processes.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency.
- Schedule production activities to meet deadlines.
- Recruit and train staff to build a high-performing team.
- Conduct high-level operations analysis to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting for the facility.
- Utilize labor management systems knowledge to optimize workforce productivity.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
- Develop incentive-based rates for production to motivate employees.
- Utilize basic computer skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Oversee projects related to facility improvements and expansions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of foundry environments
- Experience with leadership and people management.
- Experience with building incentive-based rates for production.
- Experience with labour management systems.
- Experience with project management.
- Strong communication/ leadership skills.
- Good math and measurement skills.
- Independent and self-motivated.
- Great problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory skills, including training, counselling, and disciplinary actions.
- Thorough knowledge of company health, safety, and environmental policies
- Extensive knowledge of production processes and equipment. Ability to lead change management initiatives.
- Minimum 7 years of plant management experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders numerous times during a shift.
- Ability to stand and walk up to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to wear PPE, including, but not limited to, a respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, and uniform.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be available “on call” as needed.
