This is a responsible tooling position requiring skills to build and repair molds, jigs, fixtures, and other tooling equipment involved in the manufacturing of plastic injection molded parts. The daily activities of tool mechanics to maintain tooling in production-ready condition. Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments and math to build repair parts for broken jigs, and fixtures. Maintain adequate repair supplies and other materials related to repairs. Modifies jigs and fixtures to correct problems. Performs skilled work involving close tolerance. Recommend and coordinate repairs and changes with the various approved tool shops to meet our production schedule and improve our tooling. Perform root cause analysis on issues that are tool-related and also participate in teams performing root cause analysis on production-related issues that have caused tooling damage. Track and report weekly tooling pm completion performance. Participate in new mold introduction teams.
Education (High School, College, Other):
Requires 3 to 5 years of tooling experience.
Specific Skills and/or Experience with Software, Equipment, etc.:
Must be physically capable of walking for the entire work shift; able to lift up to 60 pounds repeatedly; repeated.
bending and lifting during the shift; able to wear steel-toe footwear; adequate visual acuity to enter/review molding.
press programming; must be able to meet requirements for forklift operations; capable of exerting up to 150 feet.
