I am looking for a Principal Data Architect to help WA State build out their Enterprise Data Platform Strategy.  This will be a 9 months assignment and seeking a high level data architect with previous State Gov’t experience and familiarity with building data roadmap, strategy and teams.  TEK is currently the only company supporting the prime contract ISG but that may change

Job Description

Integrated Solutions Group (ISG) is seeking a Principal Data Architect to help Washington State build out their Enterprise Data Platform Strategy. This individual will be working with Washington State Technology Solutions (WATech) and Results Washington on two sets of deliverables. WATech is Washington State's central IT organization. Results Washington was established by Governor Jay Inslee in 2013, building on a long Washington state history of leading the charge in public-sector performance management and continuous improvement.

Deliverable 1: Data Strategy for Results Washington
Timeline: 3-9 months from project start date

Key activities:
• Stakeholder interviews
• Engagement workshops
• Synthesis of existing documents
• Development and validation of goals
• Development of data strategy

Intermediate deliverables:
• Problem definition
• Pain points
• Summary of current state and desired future state and gaps between current and future state
• Vision and objectives for the data strategy
Final deliverable: Data strategy for Results Washington

Deliverable 2: Roadmap for an enterprise data platform for Results Washington
Timeline: 6 months from project start date
Key activities:

• Mapping of requirements
  • Mapping of needed resources
  • Initial architecture design
  • Development of roadmap

Intermediate deliverables:
• Project charter
• Requirements for Results Washington’s performance management enterprise data platform
• Conceptual architecture
• List of needed staff and resources

Final deliverable: Roadmap for an enterprise data platform to support Results Washington’s performance management work, which should include a short-term roadmap to develop a proof-of-concept data platform and a medium- to long-term roadmap to scale the proof-of-concept to a full-fledged data platform
