Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: include the following:

  • Schedules orders to be picked by priority.
  • Prioritizes tasks for Inventory clerks.
  • Ensures the accuracy of their work.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in physical count with quantities in the inventory database. This may include adjusting the inventory database and investigating the cause of inventory irregularities.
  • Prevent production slowdowns by ensuring adequate material on hand.
  • Controls the flow of supplies in and out of the stockroom
  • Receives and counts material, components and finished products delivered to the stock room.
  • Maintains records of quantity and type of material and supplies in the stock room.
  • Identifies the incoming material with barcodes and places it in the correct bin to ensure “first in first out” cycling of material.
  • Cycle counts material and supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records, manually and in the ERP system.
  • Records scrap data on the production floor to remove the defective quantities from the system.
  • Responsible for kitting and inventory transactions between departments, from the stockroom location to the production floor and work order transactions that assign materials to specific product work orders.
  • Identify, monitor and rotate age sensitive stock.
  • Perform annual inventory count on all items
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weights and measure items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices and orders.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and forwards information to Materials Supervisor to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Routes items to inspection.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient computer skills
  • Familiar with logistics (UPS, FedEx, Freight carriers)
  • Understanding of inventory controls and cycle count procedures
  • Knowledge of arithmetic.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Ability to use measurement tools.
  • ISO9000 procedures and protocol.
  • Safety procedures and protocol

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum high school diploma or general education degree GED.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years previous inventory control experience in a manufacturing setting is required
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient
  • MATHMATICAL SKILLS: Basic math skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts. Work is typically performed at a variety of locations within the department (which includes walking or standing some of the time).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include but are not limited to: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. When required, must be able to lift a minimum of 5 lbs and up to 50 lbs
  • This position requires the use of a respirator hood while the blast booth is in operation. Respirator fit testing is necessary.
