Join our friendly and caring team in Lakeview Personal Care! In this Monday - Friday 9am-5:30pm position you will plan, organize, schedule, and participate in therapeutic individual and group activities that promote physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and spiritual wellness for
Lakeview residents. Must also ensure that service is provided to residents in a respectful, caring and professional manner
and in accordance with Personal Care Home regulations and Tel Hai Retirement Community
standards.
Activities Supervisor responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
- Designs and provides an ongoing program of wellness activities specific to the needs of the various
levels of cognitive and physical functioning of Lakeview residents. This may include but is not limited
to card games, board games, bingo, word games, crafts, exercise, outings, trips, parties and other
appropriately planned programs.
- Develops and generates monthly program calendar for distribution to Lakeview residents; schedules
events with other Lakeview and other campus staff.
- Develops publications to promote and publicize Lakeview activities.
- Supervises Activities Associate's completion of daily activity and attendance records.
- Appropriately documents changes in residents’ social interaction and functional capacity.
- Works with licensed nursing and therapies staff to incorporate restorative benefits into activities.
- Schedules volunteers, works with the Volunteer Coordinator to fill volunteer jobs, creates job
descriptions for volunteer office, & creates volunteer calendar.
- Responsible for Lakeview activities budget.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Education, or Social Sciences preferred.
- National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP), National Council for Therapeutic
Recreation (NCTRC), and/or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) preferred.
- ACD or Therapeutic Recreation certified preferred.
- Previous experience in supervision and geriatric care setting with demonstrated ability to positively
interact and influence persons of differing backgrounds, cultures, interests, needs and physical/cognitive
abilities preferred.
- Experience in music, arts, fitness or education is helpful.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification and First Aid Training required (may be completed
after employment begins if not already certified).
- Drivers License Required with at least 2 years of driving experience.
