What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Payroll Analyst position at Teladoc Health?

The Opportunity

We are looking for someone to join the payroll team as a Senior Payroll Tax Analyst. In this role you will collaborate with other members of the payroll team to ensure the smooth running of Workday Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance. Additionally, this position will be responsible for all monthly, quarterly and annual tax compliance for both US and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile payroll tax reporting of all federal, state, and local taxes after each pay and process timely transmission of payroll tax liability to ADP.
  • Audit employee data, tax set ups, requests and escalations.
  • Reconcile monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll taxes and related tax filing reports including 941s, W2s.
  • Responsible for Year-End processing for US and Canada.
  • Collectively collaborates with a team of payroll SMEs to proactively monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance and timely tax filing & reporting to government authorities.
  • Responsible for setting up and closing Federal, State and Local Tax Jurisdictions.
  • Ensure State Unemployment Insurance Rate Compliance.
  • Ensure system enhancement and upgrade testing procedures are in compliance to Sarbanes Oxley standards.
  • Recommend solutions and best practices to simplify payroll tax compliance needs.
  • Identifies drivers for abnormalities, then researches, analyzes, and documents their work proposing corrective action(s).
  • Responsible for recording, monitoring, and resolving all agency tax notices and tracers with 3rd party provider and government agencies, validating of all agency responses.
  • Enter and complete wage and tax corrections in the payroll system.
  • File Tax Returns not filed by payroll tax vendor.
  • Handle prior-quarter and prior-year adjustments.
  • Design, document, and review payroll tax processing procedures and appropriate for effectively managing the day-to-day systems operations.
  • Identify and drive process improvements consistent with industry best practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of current federal, state, and local tax legislation, to include evolving legislation changes to a remote workforce.
  • Monitors all payroll tax activity and is a primary liaison for tax support
  • Participate in department and cross-functional business partner projects, mergers and acquisitions, and vendor system updates.
  • Provide payroll processing back-up as needed.
  • Proactively develop and maintain technical knowledge in specialized area(s).
  • Provide input on Payroll Tax needs and future IT project requests.
  • Responsible for delivering world class customer service in support of the day-to-day operations of payroll tax.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with cross-functional business partners and payroll vendors.
  • Process employer tax return amendments.
  • Special projects as needed

Candidate Profile

  • Two to five years of Workday payroll and ADP SmartCompliance experience
  • Experience with US and Canada payroll
  • Expereince with stock administration
  • Candidates should have advanced knowledge in Workday, Excel, Word and have working experience with Reporting Tools (i.e Workday Reporting, etc.) with a demonstrated ability to recommend process solutions and communicate with all levels of personnel
  • Willingness and ability to build productive, collaborative relationships' companywide.
  • Demonstrable experience in analyzing business needs and anticipate ways in which HR Technology or processes can offer improvements or transformation opportunities.
  • Successful Candidates are self-sufficient, driven towards producing accurate results and have strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrate high level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages with all levels in the organization, including breaking down complex topics for target audiences
  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $94,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for performance bonus, RSU’s, and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2022. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
