The Opportunity Under the general direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Inspection Lead performs QA and/or QC inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies, in-process product or finished products according to defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements. Accurately document the results of inspections and measurements. Work with Production and Quality Assurance to drive continuous improvement of inspection methods & processes. Perform review of Device History Records (DHRs) and other documentation for compliance to establish procedures, Good Documentation Practices, and to comply with regulatory requirements. The Quality Inspection Lead is responsible for coordinating work assignment and prioritization with the inspection team. Additionally, this position will monitor, approve, and analyze data to evaluate for potential issues or improvement opportunities. The Quality Inspection Lead interfaces and coordinates with other disciplines within the organization, i.e., procurement, engineering, production and receiving departments. This position is a critical gate to insuring internal and supplier quality of product and reports directly to the Quality Manager. This position is based at our office in Goleta, CA. The position is onsite. Responsibilities Delegate, assign, prioritize, and review work activities associated with internal quality. Guide team members with inspection techniques. Provide guidance and decision on inspection methods. Generate, modify, and review inspection procedures and test instructions. Review changes to ensure adequacy and flow down – internal and customer. Verify RC/CA/PA effectiveness. Support customer/vendor quality and engineering collaboration. Coordinate internal approval of new part numbers, maintain approval of existing part numbers, including validation of tools and First Article data acquisition and review. Instruct and train individuals on proper use of inspection tools including CMM, caliper, micrometer, height gages and spectrophotometers. Participate and provide input in MRB. Run small projects potentially involving multifunctional teams. Candidate Profile 3 years of experience in related quality assurance/quality inspection activities. Experience in manufacturing and/or medical device is preferred. Experience using a variety of inspection tools including CMM, caliper, micrometer, height gages and spectrophotometers. Expertise in inspection methods & techniques, geometric tolerance & dimension (ASME Y14.5), regulatory standards AS9100, ISO13485 or similar Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Word Action and detail oriented Demonstrated analytical skills. Experience with CAD, ERP and / or eQMS systems preferred. The base salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for performance bonus, and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2023. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
