Position Summary and Responsibilities
- Follow procedures and layouts on SS Relays, Power Devices and Substrate.
- Maintain a labor book/log, prepares reports, and recommends solutions to technical problems as required
- Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested, ability to use equipment for a variety of applications
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED), technical training/certification preferred
- 1-2 years of previous/related experience in the use of electrical equipment
- Must have knowledge of power products – Fault Isolation, Manual Testing and Automatic Testing on power SSPC devices
- Must have good eye-hand coordination to use small hand tools
- Must have good working knowledge of computers, and good knowledge of basic math
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out written/oral/diagram form instructions and be able to deal with problems with concrete variables
- Must be able to read and interpret specifications and drawings
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to transition as needed to stand/walk/climb or balance/stoop, bend, kneel or crouch/talk or hear; will frequently use hands to finger to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs safely
- VISION Requirements: must be able to distinguish and identify colors, have peripheral vision and 3D depth perception (vision with ability to judge distances and spatial relationships) with the ability to adjust focus throughout
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and be in contact with moving mechanical equipment/parts; Ability to tolerate a moderate noise level environment (business office environment, light traffic)
