Job Description Job Description Well established supplier of specialized solid state Electronic Safe & Arms for Military, Space, and Commercial (Oil Exploration/Production) components for the aerospace industry in the Chatsworth, CA area is seeking a Buyer 3 with the following qualifications: Responsibilities: Quoting, negotiating, expediting and ordering materials as requisitioned to support production and other internal requirements Maintain the organization of PO’s and Job Quotation files for reference, audits and historical records Capitol material purchases and services Processing of returned material RFQ’s, requests for proposals, creating spreadsheets to demonstrate cost comparisons/savings Develops methods and makes recommendations for cost savings Create and maintain plans for the release of kits to Production based on the Operation Managers guidance. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Some coursework/training related to purchasing Minimum 5 years experience in procurement and working in a manufacturing environment Government and aerospace purchasing helpful (but not required) Knowledge and experience to locate additional resources for custom cables, commercial electronic components, machined parts and various types of adhesives and other consumables Experience in reading blueprints, working with BOM’s and familiarity with an on-line MRP system Excellent written and oral communication skills Knowledge with manufacturing of machines parts including time studies, materials and various types of machines/equipment (helpful) Procurement and negotiation skills, planning, inventory management and scheduling skills Must have good computer skills, Excel, Word Must be able to multi-task without losing focus Strong logical and prioritizing skills required. Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a "US Person" (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees).
