Position Summary

This position is the first building block of our products. Wire Drawing feeds products throughout the departments manufactured to customer specification. This position will be trained on the soft and hard wire side of the drawing machines and will be a floater for coverage on all shifts.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Operates and adjusts machine/equipment to SOP as trained. Follow shop packet instructions to set up machinery to manufacture product to customer specifications and apply required labeling.
  • Understands and uses measuring equipment, calipers, micrometers, rulers, test equipment, scales, counters die string set-up and other gauging following prescribed procedures to meet high-quality specifications.
  • Inspect start-up sample for proper diameter, resistance, concentricity, surface, and appearance.
  • Documents process data and parameters as required by GMP
  • Identifies when process is out of specs and recognizes when to notify quality
  • Reviews process documentation, makes corrections and signs off on production orders
  • Follow QA procedures and requirements. Identify corrective action in event of wire breaks.
  • String fine wire through die sequence and capstan.
  • Follow safety procedures, including use of required personal protective equipment

Education / Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred
  • Prior machine operator manufacturing experience

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Basic math (addition, subtraction, and division) and assembly.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and documentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Must have the ability to distinguish color and have good depth perception
