Job Description: Job Summary:
The Lead Server position is for a seasoned hospitality professional. The Lead Server will position will primarily focus on taking orders and serve food and beverages to patrons at tables in the restaurant. Memorization of house menu and specials. Sets a standard for waiters, waitresses and food runners by demonstrating exemplary customer service.

Task:
Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their wine or meal experience and take action to correct any problems.

Collect payments from customers.

Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.

Take orders from patrons for wine, merchandise or food.

Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Serve beverage (was wine) or food to patrons, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.

Present beverage or food menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.

Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished.

Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for special event.

Inform customers of owner or winemaker selections.

Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, glassware and linens.

Explain how various wines and cocktails are made, describing vintage and the quality characteristics of the wine, beer and cocktails.

Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters; take them to kitchen for cleaning.

Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom.

Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses, and pour the wines for customers.
