We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Programmer to join our team and play a crucial role in our manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programming CNC milling machines and a thorough understanding of Metal Stamping fabrication techniques.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop CNC programs using CAM software to efficiently machine tooling components on CNC Vertical Machining Centers.
· Analyze blueprints, models and specifications provided by Tool Designers to determine the best machining processes to yield optimum results.
· Create Program sheets for operators that graphically explain the intent of the program (Pickup point, Tools to be used, designation of grind stock etc.).
· Help troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
· Maintain cutting tool inventory of common cutting tools.
· Maintain programming documentation and update CNC programs as needed to reflect process improvements or design changes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
· Minimum of 5 years of experience programming CNC milling machines in a Metal Stamping manufacturing environment.
· Proficiency with CAM software such as Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or similar.
· Strong understanding of G-code programming and CNC machine operation.
· Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and geometric tolerances.
· Experience with cutting tool selection and optimization for CNC machining in various steel types.
· Knowledge of cutting tool materials, speeds, and feeds.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications are a plus.
