Director of Engineering
Tempo Communications designs and manufactures telecommunication and utility test equipment. We work closely with the leading worldwide broadband service providers to equip their technicians with best in class products that meet challenging testing requirements. Position Summary:
This role will be responsible for leading and managing the R&D engineering activities. Responsible for ensuring projects are meeting marketing requirements, product requirements, schedules and budgets through all phases to completion and delivery. This position is eligible for a Bonus Incentive Plan in addition to base compensation.
Essential Job Functions:
- Leads and manages all functions of the R&D engineering product development teams, external project resources, and remote engineering staff
- Owns the new product introduction process, works with a cross functional team to achieve objectives
- Liaison to product management helping to define new and existing product opportunities
- Assures system performance to requirements by co-developing solution architecture and design
- Author’s essential development project documents and facilitates communication within cross functional team
- Maintains project requirements, risk register, schedules and costs while performing design duties
- Assures product compliance with all applicable industry regulatory standards
- Works with operations to define, design, implement and optimize manufacturing test capability
Qualifications
Education:
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Required Skills:
- 5 years experience managing an Engineering department and leading EE, CS and ME engineers
- Knowledge and working experience developing Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) software solutions
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, team building, leadership and communications skills
- Ability to develop strategies and plan accordingly to meet objectives
- Project management experience leading team through all phases of development
- Experience in all aspects of product development including electrical, software and mechanical design.
- Ability to develop and manage multiple concurrent products
Salary : $145,000 - $220,000
