Description
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the daily operations of the HR function. As the sole Human Resources staff member, the duties will include general HR, recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, employee relations, compliance, HRIS, payroll and benefits.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Evaluates and recommends HR policies, benefits, initiatives, processes, etc.
Provides support to Managers when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
Oversee reasonable accommodations, leave administration and inter-departmental transfers.
Provide creative and innovative solutions to complex business problems regarding employees.
Oversee the job description reviews and recruiting process.
Assist managers with employee performance actions and disciplinary steps.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
Manage company benefits and 401(k)
Responsible of regulatory compliance for EEO reporting, 5500 submissions, AAP, ACA
Processes employee legally compliant separations, including conducting exit interviews.
Coach employees and managers on issues including application of HR policies and processes.
Responsible for HRIS oversite; include HR data, payroll and tax compliance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
5 years in in an HR function with Employee Relations, Benefits Administration, Compliance, and Payroll responsibilities.
Generalist experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations. These include FLSA, EEO/AA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation regulations, DFEH, EEOC, FMLA and CFRA.
BS/BA degree; PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP or other applicable specialized degrees or certifications preferred.
Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS/payroll system.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and communicate verbally and in writing effectively with leaders and employees at all levels of the company.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, especially in complex and nuanced situations.
Ability to build relationships and display objective empathy.
Adaptive critical thinking and judgment, especially in complex or ambiguous situations.
The ability to see situations from all perspectives and work through conflicts and complex performance concerns for the best possible outcomes for everyone involved.
