Immediate job opening for a Metal Fabricator to work for a locally-owned welding business in Fort Fairfield. The Metal Fabricator will prepare, weld, and fabricate customized metal structures and components by following blueprints and sketches. Employee will be responsible for weld preparation (including fitting), welding and weld finishing operation. Work may require x-ray qualities, lay out, aligns and welds fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble structural machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, and furnace shells. Applicants will be required to take a pre-employment exam to demonstrate their welding knowledge and practical skills.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Measure and mark out cutting and bending lines.
- Set up metalwork machinery, including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
- Double-check design specifications before beginning cutting work.
- Demonstrate safe and proficient use of metal fabrication tools, including shears, rollers, flame cutters, and drill presses.
- Grinding and finishing completed products.
- Performing quality checks on completed products.
- Conforming with state and company safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean workspace and properly store tools and materials.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Two or more years of work experience in welding/metal fabrication.
- Accredited training or degree in welding technology strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of hand tools, welding techniques, and units of measurement.
- Ability to visualize 3D designs by following blueprints and/or drawings.
- Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects and stand for long periods of time.
Schedule: FT/Days; schedule may vary according to workload/client demand.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00/hr. with full benefits.
