What you’ll do

As a Cardiology Clinical Data Manager, you will play a critical role in helping drive our goal of impactful(?) clinical care forward by helping us internally execute the data curation steps for product development and externally manage accounts utilizing these products within the Tempus Next platform. 

Expanding the platform - The Cardiology Clinical Data Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Data Abstractors who are responsible for reviewing clinical records, structuring key data elements and building the clinical repositories that fuel the Tempus Next platform tools. You will be responsible for executing Data Abstractor training, monitoring throughput, and performing quality checks of the data prior to handing it off to the next stakeholder. The Cardiology CDM will also draft and maintain all abstraction related documentation required for each project including SOPs and protocols required for FDA submissions and other internal projects. 

Supporting the platform - For Tempus Next account management, this role is responsible for building and expanding relationships with the lead physicians and associates from an assigned health system. With the help of your team of Data Abstractors, you will ensure that each assigned account is configured correctly and make corrections as needed. Additionally, once the Connectivity team has completed the site integration, you will meet with the site team members (physicians, nurses, project managers, or other critical stakeholders) to answer questions and ensure the platform is operating as expected from a clinical standpoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, builds, and maintains long-term relationships with all levels of customers
  • Communicate with cross functional teams including data science, project managers, clinical team members and engineering
  • Work with multiple data sources and formats to support data and report generation
  • Manage multiple competing project deadlines, with an expected demand of 3-6 ongoing projects at a time
  • Develop and maintain abstraction guidelines and rules by writing and updating SOPs
  • Answering clinically complex questions from abstractors with clear and concise guidance, and escalating those scenarios to internal SMEs as appropriate
  • Maintain abstraction quality standards by developing, interpreting and tracking standards for accuracy of data 
  • Hold a high level of individual accountability
  • Actively seek out personal and professional growth to continue sharpening your skill-set
  • Embrace, embody and represent the Tempus company culture at all times to external and internal constituents

Required Skills:

  • CTR, LPN, BSN or MSN or deep clinical data experience (data managers, clinical monitors, CRAs) preferred
  • Alternatively, clinical work experience is also preferred
  • Management experience strongly preferred 
  • Data Quality Assurance (QA) / auditing experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of medical and genomic terminology, medical abbreviations and pharmacy terms
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Obsessive attention to detail
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Strong leadership skills, ability and willingness to work in an agile and expanding team environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
  • Willingness to be flexible and adapt quickly 
  • Statistical analysis experience preferred
