Tencent XR Lab is a creative team dedicated to exploring future XR technologies. You will work with a team of world-class researchers and engineers to build the next generation of hardware and software to bring new user experiences to VR/AR/XR products.
Location: Palo Alto, CA / Bellevue, WA
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and the development of the eye tracking system used for next generation AR/VR products.
- Define the eye tracking requirements based on the need of the AR/VR/MR user experiences; Translate requirements to sensing HW specifications and down-select the solutions for products.
- Lead and collaborate with internal or external partners to develop optical technologies and sensing HW to meet eye tracking needs.
- Bring up, calibrate, test and evaluate the eye tracking prototypes; Define test plans and review results as part of cross-team collaborations.
- Design and implement metrics to quantify performance quality of the eye tracking subsystem.
- Collaborate and routinely present technical data to cross functional audiences.
Minimal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or above degree in Optics, Optical Engineering, EE or other related fields.
- 2 years of optical engineering experiences in designing, developing and characterizing the eye tracking technologies and products
- 3 years of experiences in designing and developing the imaging sensing hardware for consumer products
- Hands-on experience setting up and characterizing optical sensing systems in a lab setting
- Knowledge and experience with lasers, LEDs, drivers and common optical components
- Proficient with programming languages such as Matlab or Python
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experiences in developing and launching the eye tracking system for consumer products
- In-depth knowledge of eye tracking architectures, modeling, algorithm and calibration
- Experience leading cross-functional collaboration for sensing system design, manufacturing, calibration and characterization
- Experiences of managing optics and sensing vendors
- Knowledge of image processing techniques, CV algorithms and machine learning
