Title: Business Development Director

Position Type: Full-Time

Pay Range: $180,000.00-$230,000.00 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)

Location: Louisville, CO

About the role: We are looking a Business Development Director that will support the following programs:

  • INCUS: NASA has selected Tendeg to deliver four Ka-band deployable antennas for a new Earth science mission called Investigation of Convective Updrafts (INCUS) that will study the behavior of tropical storms and thunderstorms, including their impacts on weather and climate models. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasa-selects-new-mission- to-study-storms-impacts-on-climate-models
  • 2-axis Gimbal Antennas: Tendeg has multiple contracts to develop, fabricate, test and deliver flight units for deployable high gain antennas from X-band to Q/V-band. These are for sensor and communication missions for LEO, MEO and lunar applications.
  • Perimeter Truss Reflectors: Tendeg has multiple contracts to deliver large aperture antennas for GEO communications, SAR, and national security.

What You'll Do

Lead Tendeg’s large aperture business development team:

  • Owner of business capture strategy and proposal lifecycle. This includes initial customer engagement, contract negotiation/definitization in conjuction with Tendeg's contracts department, and handoff to program execution team. Remains an internal ‘voice of customer’ through full program lifecycle including hardware development, stage gate reviews, product delivery and on-orbit operations.
  • Responsible for cultivating product roadmaps and ensuring alignment in the areas of bid/no-bid capture reviews, IRAD plans, organizational development and acquisitive growth, among others.
  • Establish and track metrics central to business development performance (i.e., program profitability, long-term revenue projections, etc.) and organizational development (i.e., proactive staffing plans, facility needs, CapEx, etc.) to ensure sustained and coordinated growth.
  • Foster and facilitate strategic relationships with Tendeg stakeholders.

Lead Tendeg’s Marketing Strategy

  • Establish a master vision, gain regular buy in from internal Tendeg stakeholders and execute plan.
  • Manage Tendeg’s branding, social media, conference presence and engagement with local / national organizations (i.e., Universities, CSBR, AIAA, etc.)
  • As a member of the Tendeg senior leadership team, provide regular input to cross-functional groups, ensuring smooth and coordinated growth of the organization.
  • Provide mentorship to others in the areas of business development, program execution and operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Job Requirements

  • 15 years of applicable experience.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or another related field.
  • Experienced in managing large space product portfolios, capturing >$20M/yr to diverse customer bases including industry, military, and civil space organizations.
  • Customer interaction/exposure to the Department of Defense, NASA, NOAA, and Industry partners.
  • Strong BD background with the proven ability to drive product growth.
  • Experience working with various business segments, both collectively and individually, to drive consensus and effectively represent organization interests.
  • Collaborative, positive, team player-willingness to jump in and support our team members as needed.
  • Strong collaborator, team-player, goal-oriented work ethic and willingness to put in the extra effort.
  • High energy, self-motivated with a solid work ethic and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance if necessary.
  • Proven ability to work in fast paced, multidisciplinary team environments.
  • Good communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) are required as this position will involve. technical report writing and presenting at customer reviews.
