This position provides leadership to Perioperative Services, The Director of Perioperative Services is accountable for the clinical, operational, and fiscal performance of all designated units. This position oversees the execution of short and long term strategies to support organizational goals pertinent to the Baylor Scott & White- Sunnyvale campus, establishes and ensures compliance with standards of clinical care, and maintains accountability for staffing, quality, safety, service and clinical excellence throughout these areas. Other responsibilities include assisting Clinical Managers with Evidence Based Leadership, supporting nursing professional practice, and responding to any patient or physician’s complaints in an administrative leadership role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Duties
Typically provides leadership to managers and /or frontline level professional staff.
Typically, accountable for the performance and results of multiple teams performing related activities
Develops long-term plans and strategies for area of defined responsibility aligned with established functional strategies, and works with subordinate managers to operationalize and execute the strategy
Communicates priorities and expectations, monitors progress, and provides direction and course corrections
Makes decisions guided by resource availability and functional objectives.
Analyzes key trends and input from individuals in the team to make meaningful changes that directly and significantly affect short-term results
Establishes budgets and holds self and subordinate managers accountable for managing to achieve expected financial results

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Texas.
BSN required, MSN preferred.
Current AHA BLS certification.
At least 5 years of nursing management experience.
At least 2 years of experience in surgical nursing
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Additional languages desirable.
