Print-on-Demand Business Development
Who are we?
Rooted in humility, hard work, and some fun and a little weirdness (one of our six ‘Guiding Principles’), TentCraft is a capabilities rich manufacturer with a no-shame obsession with the worlds of experiential marketing and digital printing. We live, work and play in Traverse City, Michigan, and while you’ll find our work nationwide, we operate together from a single facility. Everything we design, engineer, build, print and sew happens under one roof and is proudly American made. Long story short, we’re one big talented team of LEAN thinkers dedicated to Make it Better from sea to shining sea for our clients and our TentCraft family. We’ve always got continuous improvement on our minds and creative solutions are our jam, so if we need to get a little scrappy to make magic actually happen, we’re down for that.
Cool, right? Sound like you? Let’s talk.
What we are looking for:
TentCraft is looking for an entrepreneurial hustler to help grow our print on-demand & fulfillment service offerings for companies that offer print-on-demand products. Think CustomInk, Vistaprint, Shutterfly, etc. We have one substantial customer now, but we need someone to help us turn a single large customer into a diversified, multimillion-dollar business. Initially, the focus will be on selling existing capabilities to new print on demand companies, but as the sales grow with reoccurring revenue, there will be the opportunity to focus on product development, operations, marketing, strategy, etc. You’ll drive outreach and business development activities that show prospects exactly how our print and fulfillment solutions can solve pain points and improve product profitability. Once a partner is brought into TentCraft’s print ecosystem, you’ll work closely with the Print Product Manager (the expert on print/fabrication methods and pricing), along with the Technology team to onboard and set up the partner for success. You do NOT have to be an expert on printing or even print-on-demand companies to start, but you have to be willing and motivated to use internal and external resources to develop expertise.
  • Drive sales for TentCraft by actively selling to e-commerce platforms and print-on-demand businesses.
    • Generate and maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates using Salesforce.
    • Use LinkedIn Navigator and other B2B intelligence data and tools to identify, develop, and nurture leads.
  • Take an entrepreneurial approach to identify, create, and promote profitable print-on-demand products within TentCraft's production capabilities, including custom-printed banners, pillows, blankets, and towels.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at prominent e-commerce companies, such as Zazzle, Printify, Vistaprint, and Shutterfly.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure seamless execution of newly developed print products; become the subject matter expert on a newly ordered ‘roll-to-piece’ sublimator that will enable us to heat transfer printed images onto already fabricated fabric “blanks” such as towels, blankets, mousepads, aprons, etc.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging opportunities.
  • Provide product training and support to internal teams to enhance overall product knowledge and understanding.
  • Contribute to the development of sales strategies and marketing initiatives to promote TentCraft's expanding product line.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and results-driven mindset, adapting to changing market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Travel as necessary to attend industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
What you need:
  • A scrappy, hungry, hustling mentality.
  • 2 years of experience in business development or key account management preferred.
  • An ability to not only pitch solutions, but also handle customer objections, and manage decision-processes to get a partnership across the line.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a start-up environment.
  • Strong client-service orientation and personality.
  • Attention to detail, a willingness to learn and make mistakes, and a motivation for success.
  • You’re a relationship builder and strong communicator (written & verbal).
  • A positive attitude and strong team player.
You’ll love working here if:
  • Company culture matters to you.
  • You want to work for a company that can communicate their 1, 5 and 10-year vision and show you a roadmap.
  • You recognize that tools and technology play a key role in driving productivity and results.
What we’ll give you:
  • A market competitive compensation package including health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance plans
  • 3 weeks of paid time off in your first year plus 6 paid Holidays!
  • Matching 401k (ROTH or Traditional)
  • Annual Health and Wellness reimbursement
  • Plant reimbursement (yep, we pay you to put a plant in the office!)
  • Childcare costs could be reduced by 66%! TentCraft subsidizes Childcare programs for Preschool, Child Care, before and after school care and summer programs.
  • A work culture to be proud of, we respect one another, accomplish a TON, and have fun doing it!
Bottom line:
A few years ago, we were a start-up company. Flash forward to now; we’ve experienced rapid and sustainable growth by hiring A people who support our goals to gain market share from our competitors, introduce new products and provide turn-key service to our clients. If you can bring that to the table, we’re going to serve up some good stuff, too; it’s an awesome work environment with great leadership and guidance, and a unique opportunity to see your work in some really cool projects. You’ve got to be someone who isn’t scared of trying something new and hunkering down to get the work done, so if that’s you, we’ve got room at our table. You can sit with us.
