ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Master Planner with experience to lead and manage a wide range of planning task orders including military and non-military projects. The Master Planner will independently collect, assimilate, and manage land use planning, military installation community planning, and urban design project information; prepare project requirements, constraints, opportunity mapping, and required analysis; assist in the preparation for and participation in client and stakeholder information meetings, site data collection visits, stakeholder interviews, charrettes, and in-progress reviews; prepare viable project alternatives for evaluation including adaptive reuse, repair, modernization, and new construction; and lead preparation of proposed capital investments plans in regional plans and site-specific area development plans.
Job Functions:
- Expert knowledge of Military and Non-Military Master Planning.
- Specialized experience in airfield and range planning.
- Specialized experience with land use and installation master planning.
- Experience with cost estimates prepared using DOD unit cost factors and parametric cost estimating software. Proficiency with document drawing production software.
- Ability to read and understand specifications, technical documents, and building drawings.
- Proactive learner, responsible to seek out support when needed, identify expectations, check own work output against quality expectations, and pursue opportunities to grow technical capabilities.
- Maintains open communication with staff.
- May supervise junior planning staff.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Planning from an accredited school
- Minimum of 7-10 years of related experience
- Previous military experience preferred · American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification; preferred
- LEED AP BD C certification; preferred
- Registered Landscape Architect or Architect; preferred
- Experience working with Small Business in the Federal market; preferred
- Capability of supporting multiple projects simultaneously
- Advanced understanding of planning best practices
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
