The Role
As an early member of the Terabase HR team you will work, learn, and grow in Terabase’s unique operating environment and culture: high-growth, innovative, lean, and values-driven. As the HR team, and our first Safety specific hire- we hope to demonstrate the following characteristics: adaptability, curiosity, resourcefulness, problem solving, pro-activity, and collaboration. The Employee Health and Safety Manager will be act as a consultant to business unit leaders and provide support for our product teams and workers. This role will provide leadership, coordination, and execution of day-to-day requirements on projects, managing workers compensation claims, ensuring precise accident reports, and driving safety programs and initiatives.
The EHS Manager will be operating on client sites as well as Terabase locations. This role is remote, with occasional travel (~30%).
Responsibilities

Provide support to the R&D and product teams by maintaining a visible presence to the field, performing production floor visits to the sites and facilities.

Develop a Site Safety Management Plan (SMP) for the project to ensure a safe work environment for all company employees, contractors, visitors and community.

Establish and maintain a positive safety culture throughout the organization.

Communicate safety information regularly to the organization in a highly professional and effective manner.

Implement a risk-based approach to safety management, consider non-safety related factors, and balance practicalities with safety measures.

Investigate safety incidents, perform root cause analysis, establish corrective and preventive actions, monitor for trends.

Establish and maintain safety training content.

Support project safety management needs in the way of planning, consulting, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent blend of education and work experience in our industry.

5-7 years of applied professional EHS work, in a construction field. Factory setting is also desirable.

Understanding of the software, engineering and/or climate tech sectors.

Experience providing EHS support across multiple locations.

Strong planning, coordination, organization and prioritization skills.

Proven ability to foster relationships with managers and working partnerships with a broad range of people.

Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

Thorough understanding of OSHA, ANSI, and EPA regulations.

Ability to interpret State and Federal regulations and applicability to facility to ensure compliance.

Ability to write regulatory reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

Experience performing risk assessments and audits.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
