What are the responsibilities and job description for the ERP Business Analyst position at TERACAI?
We are looking for someone who understands business needs, analyzes existing systems and processes, and recommends areas for automation or improvement. The ERP Business Analyst is responsible for researching and solving functional issues within the ERP and solving simple to complex business problems related to the use of the ERP and other related systems. This position will help guide development, provide testing and oversee deployment of solutions across multiple functional departments. The ERP Business analyst is also responsible for documenting and training users on new features and upgrades.
*This position is located in Syracuse, NY and requires onsite work.
What you'll be doing:
- Initial point of contact for training and troubleshooting end user issues with Oracle and other corporate software.
- Record, document and track user issues through resolution using help desk software.
- Leverage team resources to gather requirements for new or enhanced application systems and design any required additions/changes. Ensure timely escalation of issues when issues cannot be resolved using available resources.
- Report status, resolution and provide feedback to end users on unresolved issues.
- Assist with documentation and implementation of business process improvements.
- Create and implement automated distribution of approved reports and process improvements.
- Coordinate testing of software updates. Document issues in a timely manner to support “go-live” schedules.
- Train staff on new or modified software products and features.
- Record, document and track user issues through resolution using help desk software.
- Research unfamiliar software features and solutions to user problems.
- Assist end users with documentation/specification of business process software improvements and report requests.
- Re-engineer ERP software setup and /or process flow to improve efficient usage.
- Ensure compliance with corporate IT directives.
- Additional responsibilities as requested.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology or related field.
- Eight years’ experience in business, IT or a related position.
- 3 years’ experience in finance business processes.
- Financial analysis and report creation experience a plus.
- Knowledge of the application development process, preferably through direct experience.
- Strong software problem troubleshooting and resolution skills.
- Experience with user training and support.
- Working knowledge of application and database design.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines, while demonstrating strong attention to detail and flexibility to adjust schedule as needed.
- Experience desired in project management, relational databases and reporting tools.
- Excellent documentation, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong collaborative skills; experience working with various departments for a common goal.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in MS Office.
