Irrigation Technician

Job Summary:
As an Irrigation Technician at Terrain JH, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems. You will work closely with our landscaping team to ensure that all irrigation solutions are functioning efficiently and sustainably.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install new irrigation systems, including planning layout and scheduling installation according to landscaping designs.
• Perform routine maintenance and seasonal adjustments on irrigation systems.
• Diagnose and repair problems in irrigation systems, including leaks, broken lines, and faulty valves.
• Adjust, set up, and operate irrigation controllers and timers.
• Conduct system audits to ensure optimal operation and water conservation.
• Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with landscape designers and maintenance staff to ensure irrigation practices align with landscape requirements.
• Educate and advise clients on proper care and maintenance of irrigation systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding irrigation and water use.
• Document and report all installation and repair activities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in irrigation system installation and maintenance preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in irrigation system maintenance and repair.
• Strong knowledge of modern irrigation methods, including drip and sprinkler systems.
• Ability to read and interpret landscaping and irrigation plans.
• Proficiency in using irrigation system tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Physically capable of performing labor-intensive tasks under various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
