Are you someone who loves helping others and making a real difference in someone's life? If you’ve got a big heart and a positive attitude, we want *you* as our next Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP)!
What’s in it for you?
You'll be working with an amazing 26-year-old young lady who uses a manual wheelchair and is excited to gain more independence.
She’s fun, motivated, and loves learning new life skills with the support of her loving family right by her side.
Your schedule :
- TWO afternoon / evening shifts per week (3 : 30 PM - 7 : 30 PM)
- Saturday and / or Sunday (7 : 30 AM - 7 : 30 PM)
- Alternating weekends possible you’ll have flexibility!
Who we’re looking for :
- You’re kind, fun, and patient.
- You’re comfortable providing personal care (and have some experience with it).
- Lifting 50 pounds is no problem for you.
- Love to walk and swim? So does she join in on the fun!
- You love small dogs because they’ll be part of your new work family too!
What you’ll be doing :
You’ll be there to support her as she works toward her independence helping with personal care, ensuring her safety, and making every day a positive experience.
Plus, you’ll get to play a key role in helping her reach her goals as outlined in her Individual Support Plan (ISP). Your knowledge of seizure disorders will help you stay on top of safety protocols, and your awesome problem-solving skills will keep things running smoothly.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED
- DSP experience? Even better!
- Experience with seizure disorders? Major bonus!
- A love for small dogs is a must.
