Position Summary
The Commissioning Technician I is a network troubleshooting and technical expert who will travel frequently to install, connect, service, and monitor wired and wireless tracker commissioning across all project sites. The Commissioning Tech will independently test all of the Tracker controls to ensure that each array is operating as specified and to ensure that the controllers are appropriately responsive to remote instructions on where and when to stow and when to revert to normal operations.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Duties)
  • Complete new equipment start-ups, perform independently or assist in the installation of Tracker Controls on new project sites, install and/or inspect mechanical Network Controller, Weather Stations, and Repeater builds.
  • Support the troubleshooting and maintenance of the Tracker product line.
  • Troubleshoot all Network settings down to the device level locally and remotely.
  • Document and maintain accurate commissioning inventory per usage as in construction or warranty.
  • Demonstrate the ability to independently diagnose, repair, and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring in all-weather field conditions.
  • Monitor existing project sites via the Tracker Cloud Software to identify issues and seek to resolve, escalating as needed.
  • Provide Tracker Customer Support at the Tier 1 level.
  • Assist the Development Team with QA, testing, and feedback of new functionality.
  • Provide a best-in-class customer experience.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections, perform preventative maintenance, track and schedule required periodic repairs or service, ensure safe storage, and operate all vehicles and equipment within safe limits as set by manufacturers recommendation or local law.
  • Complete all required or directed training, certification, licensing, and other learning and development as assigned.
  • Abide by all Federal, State, and local laws; uphold and maintain accountability to all Company policy.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • 2 Years of Experience in Building/Commissioning Solar Tracker Systems

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate use of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Practical working knowledge of electronic embedded systems equipment

Licenses / Certifications

  • OSHA 10
  • Driver's License (must be valid and issued from state you reside in)

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work outdoors in uncovered areas exposed to varying elements, allergens, weather conditions, temperatures, and wildlife.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend, or twisting at the waist, and walk on uneven, graded, or slippery ground condition.
  • Able to stand to for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. unassisted.
  • Able to be routinely exposed to loud noises (100 dB).
  • Able to work in sustained extreme temperatures (hot and cold).
  • Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and managers.
