Scientist/Senior Scientist: Analytical and Purification Chemist

Position Summary: Terray Therapeutics is seeking an innovative and motivated analytical and purification chemist to join our chemistry team. The role will entail high throughput purification of reaction mixture arrays, utilizing mass-triggered reverse phase preparative HPLC. Evaluating and setting up additional purification methods, such as normal-phase systems, will also be a critical requirement. A key component of this role will be the ability to develop purification methods based on physical properties of the target molecules as well as instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. Given the purification throughput, sampling handling and storage solutions will need careful management and setup. The position will be based in Pasadena initially and Monrovia from early 2023. Additionally, the successful candidate would be expected to communicate effectively and work closely with other key functions at Terray: Biology, Computation & Data Science and Automation.

Required Qualifications:

• BSc or MSc/MPhil degree in analytical chemistry or related field and ideally 5 years of experience in industry OR PhD in analytical chemistry.
• Expertise in purification of organic molecules across normal-phase and reverse-phase chromatography platforms.
• Experience in available purification systems and related components that would support high throughput purification.
• Excellent attention to detail and record keeping.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Desire to be a team player in a cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in parallel purification methods and demonstrated laboratory leadership and knowledge.
• Experience and knowledge of experimental physical property methods.
