Terrestris Global Solutions is seeking speech pathologist to support working at The John F. Kennedy School which serves students on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. The speech pathologists will assist the school in implementing special education and related services as authorized under P.L. 108-446 Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA). The purpose of IDEIA program is to provide a free appropriate public education to students who have an identified disability and by reason thereof require specialized instruction including related services to meet their unique educational needs. There are approximately 26 students who presently need speech/language therapy on a weekly basis.
John F. Kennedy School is in a semi-remote area on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation, in a little community called Cedar Creek, which is about 18 miles south of Whiteriver, Arizona
· Position description:
Services will include direct therapy to students, evaluations, consultations with staff, parent/guardian contact and scheduling of meetings, instructions/directions to teaching assistant, participation in IEP meetings, and completion of IEP components into NASIS (Native American Student Information System).
· The Speech/Language Pathologists will provide a direct service log for each student and each visit and will meet with the Special Education Department at the beginning of the contract.
· Teleservice may be required during the Covid-19 pandemic or other related situations which may result in students receiving distance/virtual learning.
· The Speech/Language Pathologists will provide direct therapy to students and Tele-Service may be required during the Covid-19 crisis.
· The contractor will provide speech services and evaluations (both initial and reevaluations)
· To the students of John F. Kennedy via tele-therapy on the computer. The Speech/Language Pathologists
· Will service students between the hours of 8 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
· The Speech/Language Pathologists will work an estimate of 217 days, 5 days a week, 5.4 hours each day and 27 hours each week (unless preapproved to assessments for new referrals or re-evaluations for existing students).
· Observes, screens, evaluates students and provides documentation of student referrals.

· Develops and/or implements therapy plans to include a narrative description of student’s exact needs and specific, measurable individual goal statements.
· Maintains service/documentation log of exact services provided to each student receiving Speech Therapy.
· Provides supervision/direction to teaching assistant who provides direct services to students once per week.
· Identifies equipment needs and makes recommendations of needs to the Special Education Department.
· Completes student reevaluations and IEP’s (Individualized Education Program) in accordance with BIE and IDEA timelines.
· Provides written evaluation reports to the multidisciplinary team prior to the team meetings.
· Completes and submits to the Special Education Department through the NASIS system, written report of student progress at the end of each school quarter.
· Provides training and support as needed to staff and parents.
Qualifications
· Master's degree in speech/language pathology
License or certification
- Current Arizona licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech/Language Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association or academic equivalent with clinical fellowship year pending completion
- Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
