Model Shop Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

Accountable for all Model Shop business processes and associate development while providing day to day guidance and direction for Model Shop associates. Works collaboratively with all departments, but primarily supports Operations and I&D by scheduling work efficiently. Makes decisions on priorities as they relate to business strategy and annual goals. Has day to day budget management responsibility and collaborates with Model Shop Management in annual budget development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provides leadership for the functional group’s development, direction, and effectiveness, adhering to organizational policies and processes and supporting overall business and corporate objectives.
Develops and directs implementation of plans to achieve the goals of a functional area which support overall business objectives.
Ensures operations schedules are met within budget through appropriate use of human and technology resources, scheduling, and effective problem solving.
Plans and implements organizational changes within area of responsibility. Recommends changes to other areas that will improve overall effectiveness of the operations and or quality group.
Assists the team in identifying problems, analyzing causes, and selecting appropriate solutions.
Delivers quality training modules to teams, assesses the learning impact, and modifies content/delivery accordingly.
Coordinates and is accountable for Model Shop team activities to assure schedule adherence.
Works closely with outside vendors to assist with capacity related to critical projects.
Is the primary representative within the Model Shop for timely project completion, quality and cost.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

Experience

Minimum 4 years experience.

Skills

Requires demonstrated effective leadership skills.
Requires demonstrated skills in planning and scheduling machining work.
Requires moderate understanding of financial performance reports and their implications.
Requires a moderate to thorough understanding of technology and methods applicable to the area and the ability to determine appropriate application.
Requires moderate to thorough understanding of quality management techniques and experience in developing quality and productivity goals and measures.
Requires basic knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in various methods of machining.
Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

General Labor Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range: $83,200.00 to $104,100.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 10.0%
