JOB TITLE: Building Receptionist - Security Officer
M-F/ 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
JOB SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, performs a variety of security driven reception and administrative functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Professionally handles both routine and non-routine requests for information and assistance, using discretion in determining whether the situation can be handled personally or should be referred to the supervisor or other for disposition.
- Performs duties that are particular to the position or department, requiring independent actions and decision making with alignment to policy and procedures.
- Provides customer service to visitors, associates, and contractors in a way that demonstrates a professional and customer-oriented attitude.
- Works with customers to coordinate visits and handles visitor access requirements.
- Manages building conference rooms and assists employees with the scheduling of conference rooms.
- Receives packages and distributes accordingly.
- Selects and uses established purchasing protocols for materials or components of a routine nature that are limited to a moderate monetary amount necessary for projects, repairs, inventory, or normal supply usage.
- Assists engineers, supervisors, project managers, and other facilities associates by providing support with projects.
- Operates and cares for associated tools and equipment required to perform functions of the job.
- Participates in building evacuation and emergency response drills, providing emergency support as directed.
- Participates in conducting preventive maintenance and repairs for proper functional and aesthetic value of access control including door and badge access, life safety, and other related systems.
- Accurately documents routine and emergency activity in a complete and thorough manner.
- Assists in the coordination of snow/ice removal during the winter months including initiating and directing activities of the snow removal contractor.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- May schedule the work of other associates, contractors, and vendors.
- May assist in training of entry-level facilities associates in building maintenance, renovation technologies, procedures, technical knowledge, and the use of facilities systems.
- May be required to work other shifts, non-standard work, or overtime hours to meet objectives and schedules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
High school diploma or GED.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience.
- Previous experience in security, police or other first responder role preferred. May include Civilian or Military Police, Civilian or Military Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic.
Skills
- Demonstrated high level of honesty, integrity, ethics, and professionalism is required.
- Ability to read building layouts and blueprints.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Establish initial incident command until relieved.
- Coordinate appropriate response to emerging issues on campus including notifications of Facilities, Operations, and Management team associates as required.
- Respond to a wide variety of emergencies including accidents, medical emergencies, severe weather, and facility system failures.
- Coordinate with emergency response personnel from local police, fire, and other government organizations.
- Monitor and operate the fire/life safety systems for the campus.
- Carry out and interpret existing methods and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and accountability reporting to include marked drawings showing building or systems changes.
- Good working knowledge of Company Policies and Procedures.
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must be able to maintain CPR and First Aid qualification.
- Requires a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
General Labor Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range: $23.00 - Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
