The Certified Athletic Trainer/Injury Prevention Specialist,
a member of the Ergonomics Team based at Giga Factory Nevada, focuses on
setting the right conditions of work - from manufacturing and maintenance to
sales and service - such that all Tesla employees can achieve and sustain
healthy high work performance. What does this mean? It means this
individual is not content with just eliminating the risk of injury but goes
further to ensure healthy, human performance is "designed-in" to the human-work
system. This individual will support management of change, works to
accommodate a wide range of people both physically and mentally and works with
Teams to prevent repetitive and overuse injuries. This individual also pays
particular attention to the interaction of humans and productive systems.
The Certified Athletic Trainer/Injury Prevention Specialist is expected not
only to have the skills to plan, coordinate, and supervise all components of
the Early Symptom Intervention program, but think critically and communicate
effectively with individuals across all levels in the company
Shifts available:
A) Days front 5:30AM - 5:30PM - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and
every other Wednesday
B) Days back 5:30AM - 5:30PM - Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday
C) Nights front 5:30PM - 5:30AM (10% pay differential) - Sunday, Monday,
Tuesday and every other Wednesday
D) Nights back 5:30PM - 5:30AM (10% pay differential) - Thursday, Friday,
Saturday, and every other Wednesday.

- Provides first-aid treatment and case management for musculoskeletal complaints, which includes the use of ice, heat and wellness stretches, massages, tape techniques, and the knowledge of non-rigid bracing
- Provides orthopedic injury assessments, covering such areas as, but not limited to, history, observation, palpation, range of motion, manual muscle strength, reflex testing, myotomes, dermatomes, and special tests
- Perform assessments and interventions on the factory floor and lineside with employees, care coordination and communication with on-site medical providers
- Electronic documentation for all encounters which may include reports, newsletters, or training materials
- Create an environment of trust and care, allowing workers to take responsibility to reduce or eliminate actions under their control that contribute to injury and illness
- Develop and lead group and individual training sessions focusing on functional movement patterns, specific job simulations, and educational programs for occupational health/ safety
- Use innovative, creative solutions and employee empowerment to design and implement early symptom interventions
- Perform HumanTech assessments and develop appropriate rotation schemes from data
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Athletic Training (from an accredited program) or equivalent experience
- Board Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC) and State Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Current First Aid and AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers certification is required
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with client and employees
- Strong organizational and time management skills along with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum 1 year ATC working experience preferred
- Experience in Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomics and knowledge of current OSHA regulations preferred
