Tesla is currently seeking a Recycling Program Manager that will be responsible for evolving and optimizing the programs supporting all non-regulated waste streams at Gigafactory New York. Through external vendor accountability and internal partnerships, they will be expected to evolve waste programs that will maximize diversion and revenue while minimizing scrap and waste. As they realize these wins, they will proliferate best practices through standardization across multiple business units.
- Lead the Recycling Program to minimize waste to landfill and maximize diversion / revenue through programs that minimize operational expense while maximizing revenue generation
- Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and negotiate commercial rates of scrap materials
- Align with production, production control, facilities, and environmental, health and safety teams to review recyclable materials, plans for collection and transport of materials on site, and strategies for disposal
- Develop program standard operating procedures / processes and provide site training to ensure compliance with developed procedures / processes
- Identify and lead waste/scrap stream reduction opportunities
- Manage operational expenses and execution within budget forecasts
- Collaborate effectively with other teams across Gigafactory New York to drive recycling program initiatives and exceed key performance metrics
- Demonstrated (3-5 years) prior recycling and/or commodity sales/purchasing experience, budgetary planning, program development and documentation
- Capable of managing multiple complex projects /tasks simultaneously
- Appreciates an environment where innovative and high-quality work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded and where individuals carry tremendous responsibility
- Excellent listening skills, organizational skills, and strong communications skills
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook/Excel/PowerPoint)

- Project Mgr - $68,000 - $102,000/annual salary
- Sr Project Mgr - $85,000 - $127,500/annual salary
- Staff Project Mgr - $105,400 - $158,100/annual salary
- Sr Staff Project Mgr - $125,800 - $188,700/annual salary
- Principal Program Mgr - $142,800 - $214,200/annual salary
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
