What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Collection Supervisor position at Tesla?
The Data Collection Supervisor will help drive improvement of Tesla's Autopilot & Robotics system by leading our data collection team and becoming an expert on our data collection workflows. This role requires an elevated level of flexibility and the ability to lead a team. Onsite presence is required at our Palo Alto location and other surrounding facilities.

Manage a team of data collection operators across various workflows and projects

Point of contact between engineering teams and data collection operators to optimize operations

Monitor equipment health and performance, and work with the necessary engineering/technician teams for repair

Conduct high level debugging of hardware and software issues

Create and monitor dashboards to review data output from Operators

Own documentation for all workflows, operations, and training guides

Identify inefficiencies and come up with automation solutions where applicable

Review/Approve operator timecards/expense reports/travel requests

Schedule shifts for Data Collection Operators and planning to support remote locations

Provide technical training, career growth, and mentorship. Ensure the team works as a cohesive unit

Monitor operator actions, implement process improvements and take necessary actions to resolve issues

Experience managing and motivating hourly teams

Commitment to data accuracy and throughput

Strong problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for quickly learning systems

Proven track record executing and meeting sensitive deadlines

Experience managing multiple competing projects with limited resources

Understand when to delegate and allocate responsibilities to manage projects end-to-end

Ability to match project tasks with opportunities for employee development

Strong communication and presentation skills - can explain complicated topics and ideas in a clear and concise manner

Able to manage off-site employees; will require travel to various facilities as necessary

Proficiency in standard workflow software (JIRA, Excel, etc)

Highly flexible attitude that adapts to rapid changes in a growing environment

Excellent attention to detail and highly observational

Excellent written and spoken English
