Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Machinist to provide set-up and operation for large machining centers to optimize and support the production processes. Join a fast-paced and rapidly growing team that works on the next generation for battery cells.
Responsibilities
- Provide crucial input on design, optimization and production for machining, manufacturing, assembly, and low cost
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Operate machining centers such as lathe, vertical milling, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw and band saw.
- Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
- Familiar with 5S principles and practices
- Familiar with paralleling work piece and tramming mill heads
Requirements
- 3 years of knowledge of milling machining centers, educational courses preferred
- Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
- Day-shift position
- Mastery of high-speed machining and tool path optimization
- Ability to machine complex and high tolerance components
- Materials: aluminum, stainless steel, steel, plastics and copper
- Passionate about machining
- Strong work ethic and highly motivated
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Well organized, strong written & verbal communication skills
- Flexible, ability to work in a fast pace constantly changing environment with long hours and tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently
- Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
